Live webcam face swap or uploaded video: which do you need?
Choose based on where the movement comes from and whether you need the result now or as a finished file.

If you're performing now, use the webcam
For a stream or a new take, the camera supplies the movement and the reference image supplies the new face. You can smile, speak or change your angle and inspect the result while you're still in the shot. AI Face Swap Live uses this workflow. An uploaded portrait is a reference, not a video to edit.
If the performance already exists, edit the file
Suppose you shot an interview yesterday and want to change a face while keeping every cut and gesture. An editor that accepts prerecorded footage is a better fit: the input is the original clip and the deliverable is an edited file. Starting a webcam session here won't let you import that interview. The same distinction applies to a still photo when all you need is one edited image.
Choose your output before starting
- A short clip for a post: record and download the webcam result. Leave the microphone off if you'll add music later.
- A stream with overlays or gameplay: capture the browser window in OBS and arrange the scene there.
- A replacement face for an existing clip: look for a file-based video face-swap editor. You don't need live processing credits for that workflow.
If you'll perform live, check the camera framing before deciding how much live time to buy.
